Position Summary:
The IT Infrastructure and Operations Manager is responsible for leading a high-performing team of IT professionals, ensuring operational excellence in IT infrastructure, and maintaining a secure, reliable, and scalable technology environment. This role will oversee IT supervisors and technical teams, drive continuous improvement, and align IT operations with business objectives. The ideal candidate possesses a balance of technical acumen and leadership expertise, enabling them to effectively manage teams, optimize processes, and uphold high service delivery standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & People Management:
• Lead, mentor, and develop IT supervisors and team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Establish and monitor team goals, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
• Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and support career development initiatives.
• Champion best-in-class customer service and hold team members accountable for delivering a high level of IT support.
Operational Excellence & Strategy:
• Develop and execute IT infrastructure and operations strategies to support business growth and efficiency.
• Oversee IT service delivery, ensuring operational stability, security, and scalability of infrastructure.
• Establish and enforce IT governance, security policies, and compliance with industry standards such as PCI, SOX, and data privacy laws.
• Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, and procurement processes to optimize costs and service levels.
• Drive continuous improvement by analyzing performance metrics, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing best practices.
Technical Oversight & Accountability:
• Maintain sufficient technical competency to effectively oversee infrastructure, security, and IT operations teams.
• Ensure proper system monitoring, backup strategies, and disaster recovery planning.
• Hold teams accountable for adhering to IT standards, best practices, and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Collaborate with IT leadership to assess emerging technologies and their potential impact on the business.
Qualifications & Experience:
• 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and operations, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role managing teams and supervisors.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong leadership, team building, and performance management skills.
• Hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, including networking, cloud services (AWS, Azure), virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware), and enterprise applications.
• In-depth knowledge of IT service management (ITSM), ITIL frameworks, security best practices, and compliance standards.
• Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CCNP, CISSP, or cloud certifications (AWS, Azure) are highly preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all organizational levels.
Additional Requirements:
• Availability for after-hours support as needed for critical system maintenance, project deadlines, or emergency issues.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
