NxEdge is an advanced manufacturing, cleaning, coating, and refurbishment business focused on the semiconductor value chain, serving customers from 3 facilities in Boise, ID and 3 in northern California. NxEdge is a newly acquired addition to Enpro’s high-growth Advanced Surface Technologies segment, which is made up of businesses that utilize proprietary technologies, processes, and capabilities with highly differentiated services and products to serve the most challenging applications for semiconductor equipment, specialized optical filters, and thin-film coatings.
Objectives:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our semiconductor manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing and a strong background in process improvement methodologies. This role is crucial for driving efficiency, quality, and productivity improvements across our operations. This position reports to the Engineering Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Process Improvement: Identify, analyze, and implement improvements in manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.

Data Analysis: Utilize statistical tools and techniques to analyze production data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.

Project Management: Lead and manage continuous improvement projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and engineering, to drive process improvements and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Training: Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff on continuous improvement methodologies and best practices.

Documentation: Maintain detailed records of process changes, improvements, and outcomes to ensure transparency and facilitate future improvements.

Compliance: Ensure all process improvements comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop schedules and manufacturing strategies communicating project goals and timelines across departments and ultimately to the customer.
- Research solutions and guide team forward when various conflicts arise.
- Serve as focal point for communication across departments and customers on CIP Initiatives, progress, challenges, and proposed solutions.
- Support optimization efforts
- Analyze technical problems and provide solutions.
- Facilitate technical review and approval of internal and external changes requests.
- Estimate manufacturing cost and provide customer quotations.
- Develop best practices and drive continuous improvement.
- Create, maintain, and report performance data regarding the RTM/NPI process.
- Develop presentations to highlight potential challenges and propose solutions to the customer.
- Contact RCCA and apply lessons learned to ensure overall process improvements.
- Record procedures and results, including numerical and graphical data, and recommend changes in product or test methods.
- Design fixturing and tooling as needed.
- Ensure the delivery of products from RTM and NPI to production, including clear work statements, WI, and setup sheets.
- Develop specifications and produce documents for manufacturing.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in leading improvement initiatives with a proven track record of successfully implementing process improvements.
- Program management experience (PMP preferred but not required) as well as excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient in Solidworks, JMP or MiniTab.
- Knowledge with Capability Analysis and Gage R&R.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical analysis tools.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Growth-oriented mindset.
- Experience with ISO 9001, or similar ISO requirements.
- Experience with Lean 6-sigma / DMAIC initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Physical Demands:
- Extensive periods of sitting, talking on the phone, and working on the computer.
- Extensive periods of walking and standing.
- Must be able to lift up to 35lbs.
