Overview of Position: 

The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, qualifying, and sustaining manufacturing processes to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets. This role analyzes process performance, leads continuous improvement, and partners cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and R&D to resolve issues, implement changes, and ensure robust documentation and training. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, qualify, and sustain manufacturing processes (e.g., cleaning/chemical, wet processing, inspection, and related flows) to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets. 

  • Own process documentation (SOPs, work instructions, control plans) and ensure revisions are reviewed, approved, and deployed with effective training. 

  • Analyze yield and reports, rework, and cycle-time data to identify trends and drive corrective and preventive actions. 

  • Lead continuous improvement activities using structured problem-solving and statistical methods as appropriate. 

  • Plan and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize process parameters, qualify new chemistries/materials, and validate process windows. 

  • Support process development work including feasibility studies, process flow definition, and transfer of new/updated processes from development to manufacturing. 

  • Partner with Operations to improve run discipline, ergonomics, and standard work; provide on-floor support to troubleshooting process issues. 

  • Collaborate with Quality to support internal/external audits, manage nonconformances/deviations, and ensure compliance to ISO/QMS requirements. 

  • Specify, evaluate, and support maintenance/qualification of process equipment, coordinate calibration, PM improvements, and tool release activities. 

  • Lead and/or support equipment qualification and validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ as applicable), including protocol development, execution, data analysis, and final reports. 

  • Generate technical reports and data summary packages for internal stakeholders and customers, as required. 

  • Support new product introductions and change management (ECO/PCN as applicable), including risk assessment and validation documentation. 

  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned to support manufacturing and engineering objectives. 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirement:  

  •  Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering, Materials Engineering, or equivalent. 
  • Experience: Prior hands-on experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment, including the safe use of chemicals and specialized equipment; prior semiconductor wet processing/chemical cleaning background preferred. 

  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills preferred; proven track record of adhering to strict safety protocols and handling delicate materials with precision. 

  • Work Ethic: Possesses a high degree of quality orientation and takes pride in producing excellent work. 

  • Technical Proficiency: Competent in using computer systems for data management, process tracking, and documentation. 

 Pay:  $110K- $120K

This job equally operates in a production and professional office environment. The environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts or equipment. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.  Physical requirements further include the ability to engage in productive and collaborative communication and may need to be performed during non-standard hours, including nights, weekends and possibly holidays. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move about the facility. The employee is required to sit; use hands to finger; handle; or feel/hold objects; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; speak, hear, and smell. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear as well as interact with other employees. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Generally, the incumbent must be able to sit/stand and use a computer for extended periods of time.
