SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER, INDUSTRIAL TRANSMITTER PLATFORM

OPPORTUNITY

To support AlpHa Measurement Solutions’ expansion into the industrial transmitter and controls platform market, AlpHa has established the Senior Product Manager, Industrial Transmitter Platform role. This position provides end-to-end leadership of the transmitter platform roadmap serving as the central business and technical leader for AlpHa’s transmitter initiative, targeting both general-purpose industrial deployments and Class I Division 2 (C1D2) hazardous location applications.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Product Manager will own the Industrial Transmitter program end-to-end. This role is responsible for the product strategy, roadmap, voice-of-customer (VOC), requirements definition, and go-to-market execution for the AlpHa transmitter platform.

The role serves as the primary leader for business case performance, systems-level product architecture decisions, project milestone governance, certification path alignment, pricing strategy, VOC-driven product requirements, and launch success. This individual will drive alignment across Engineering, Quality, Operations, Sales, and channel partners to ensure timely delivery of an AlpHa-branded transmitter platform that strengthens customer ownership from probe to panel.

This role requires a unique blend of systems engineering discipline, structured project management, and technical sales fluency to ensure the platform is not only built correctly, but successfully specified, adopted, and scaled in the field.

Classification: Salary, Exempt, Full-Time, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and as required to maintain business momentum.

 Essential Functions

  • Own the transmitter platform roadmap, including analog, digital Modbus RS-485, and hazardous-location product variants
  • Lead systems engineering definition, including interface architecture, signal-path requirements, power strategy, enclosure constraints, certification design rules, and sensor-to-PLC interoperability
  • In collaboration with Sales, identify and translate VOC field integration needs, and commercial strategy into clear product requirements and phased release plans
  • Establish minimum viable product (MVP) specifications aligned to AlpHa sensor portfolio requirements and target vertical markets
  • Identify and prioritize IIoT, wireless HART, and diagnostic feature investments for v2.0 and beyond
  • Apply formal project management discipline including schedules, phase gates, risk registers, resource plans, milestone reviews, and executive decision checkpoints
  • Lead cross-functional execution across hardware, firmware, applications, compliance, supply chain, and technical sales teams
  • Drive cross-functional execution through AlpHa’s formal 5-Stage Phase Gate process, ensuring successful completion of Business Case, Concept Exploration, Design & Development and Product Launch gate deliverables, risks, and approval milestones
  • Coordinate FM, UL, CSA, ATEX, and IECEx certification strategies with internal and external compliance partners
  • Develop business cases, revenue models, ASP targets, margin expectations, and phased capital deployment plans
  • Partner directly with Sales and channel teams using prior technical sales experience to support customer specifications, application positioning, competitive differentiation, and high-value account conversions
  • Own beta-program execution with named customer accounts and channel partners
  • Develop technical sales enablement tools including integration guides, positioning decks, demo workflows, and objection-handling materials
  • Lead risk mitigation activities related to certification, supply continuity, engineering resources, and market adoption
  • Establish KPI dashboards for schedule adherence, launch readiness, margin realization, field adoption, and channel conversion
  • Develop long-term platform adjacencies including wireless gateway, cloud-connected logging, OEM modules, and advanced diagnostics

 Required Qualifications and Experience 

  • 7+ years of product management or product engineering experience in industrial instrumentation, process control, or embedded hardware products
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related technical field
  • Demonstrated systems engineering experience in multi-input industrial devices, signal conditioning, communications interfaces, or control-system integration
  • Proven project management leadership for complex cross-functional hardware + firmware product launches
  • Prior technical sales, applications engineering, field sales support, or customer-facing solution experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with 4–20mA, Modbus RS-485, PLC/SCADA, DCS, hazardous-area products, and industrial communications architectures
  • Experience managing product roadmaps involving UL, CSA, FM, ATEX, IECEx, or hazardous-location certification pathways
  • Strong financial acumen with ownership of business cases, margin models, and NRE investment decisions
  • Strong organizational discipline with ability to manage multiple strategic pathways simultaneously
  • Experience working within ERP/business systems and structured NPI processes
  • Demonstrated ability to influence matrixed teams without direct authority
  • Strong technical communication skills: able to write clear product requirements, present to executive stakeholders, and engage directly with engineers
