Job Title: OEM Business Development Manager

Location: Palmyra, NY (or Remote with travel)
Department: Sales / Business Development
Reports To: Director of Sales


Position Summary:

Garlock is seeking a dynamic and results-driven OEM Business Development Manager to lead strategic growth initiatives across our metal gaskets, compression packing, and Klozure® sealing solutions. This role will focus on expanding our footprint with OEMs in traditional rotating equipment sectors—such as pumps, valves, and mining machinery—while aggressively pursuing emerging opportunities in hydrogen, data centers, semiconductors, and battery technologies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Market Development
    • Identify and develop new OEM partnerships in high-growth sectors including hydrogen, data centers, semiconductors, and battery manufacturing.
    • Analyze market trends and customer needs to position Garlock products as preferred solutions.
  • Sales Growth & Account Management
    • Drive revenue growth for metal gaskets, compression packing, 3522 diaphragm material, and Klozure® products.
    • Manage key OEM accounts, ensuring long-term relationships and customer satisfaction.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to tailor solutions that meet OEM specifications and performance requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with Engineering, Product Management, and Marketing to align product development with market needs.
    • Support product launches and promotional campaigns targeting OEMs in strategic verticals.
  • Technical Expertise & Value Selling
    • Provide technical guidance and application support to OEM customers.
    • Deliver compelling value propositions that highlight Garlock’s differentiation in sealing technology and reliability.
  • Market Intelligence & Reporting
    • Monitor competitive landscape and emerging technologies.
    • Provide regular updates and forecasts to leadership on pipeline development and market penetration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in OEM sales or business development, preferably in industrial or engineered products.
  • Strong understanding of sealing technologies and rotating equipment applications.
  • Proven success in developing new markets and managing complex sales cycles.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with hydrogen infrastructure, semiconductor manufacturing, battery systems, or data center cooling technologies.
  • Experience working with mining equipment OEMs or rotating equipment manufacturers.
  • Technical background in mechanical or industrial engineering is a plus.
