Job Summary & Job Duties

Manufacturing Shop Production Supervisor with extensive CNC mill / lathe experience in the precision machining industry. This position requires experience in managing the manufacturing process including process improvement, process strategy, direct & indirect production workforce oversight. This person will use his/her experience with machine practices and will know how to fix problems that may arise in production.
Salary Range: 95K - 110K DOE

Minimum Qualifications

The shift supervisor supports the planned execution of production activities, assisting in ensuring safety across all areas of the business, and monitoring the efficient use of resources to achieve the company’s goals, with the following responsibilities:
• Implement and enforce policies and procedures as directed by the Operations Manager regarding safety, production standards, and behavior.
• Supervise the production flow within the machine shop to ensure safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost efficiency.
• Improve equipment utilization, shop organization, and tool maintenance.
• Plan work schedules and expedite workflow in conjunction with Production Supervisors and Account Managers to meet customer expectations.
• Work with shop floor, Manufacturing Engineers, and Facilities and Maintenance teams to identify and execute process improvements.
• Making sure employees are taking their breaks & meal periods according CA labor laws.
• Considers the impact of decisions and acts in the best interest of the department and company.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to work in a team environment to complete goals, while also working alone on projects.
• Basic PC skills with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software packages.
• Effective English written and verbal skills required. Able to take detailed and well-organized notes to summarize meeting results, agreements, action items, and problems.
• Able to operate in a less-controlled environment with consistent feedback to manager.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Decision making
• Organizational and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience troubleshooting manufacturing operations, including machining processes.
• Familiar with a broad range of processes such as machining, detailing, welding, and assembly.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments.
• Thorough understanding of machining equipment set-ups and practices.
• Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, and chemicals, with protective equipment provided as needed.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Regular walking, bending, and moving about the facility to supervise work conditions and interact with staff.
• Visual acuity to inspect parts and review detailed documents and reports.
• Must be able to lift/pull/ push 35 lbs. unassisted.
Overtime and weekends could be required during heavy workload or to meet special customer demand
