Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Summary: 

Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for performing routine inspections, implementing quality assurance policies and procedures, and identifying any workflow issues.  

Essential Functions:  

  • Support the digitization and improve efficiency of the Quality Management System (QMS), including documentation, procedures, policies, manuals, and quality records. 

  • Assist in preparing for and participate in internal audits and external audits to ensure compliance with AS9100. 

  • Conduct routine inspections of production records/documentation to ensure consistency to quality and regulatory standards. 

  • Help supervise and detail corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve product quality issues and nonconformances. 

  • Support the investigation of customer complaints and product quality issues, documenting root cause analyses and helping track action items/improvements. 

  • Assist with training programs on quality standards and procedures for relevant personnel. 

  • Maintain quality metrics and assist in generating reports for management on quality performance and compliance trends. 

  • Maintains detailed and accurate record keeping practices. 

  • Accepts or rejects parts purchased externally or manufactured internally. 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, associate's degree preferred. 

  • Two years of experience working in a quality assurance role in a manufacturing environment required. 

  • Ability to make sound decisions and approach problems with curiosity and open-mindedness. 

  • Ability to use measurement tools to complete calibrations. 

  • Ability to read drawings and understand specifications of a complex nature. 

  • Experience with AS9100 principles and practices preferred. 

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time. 

  • Ability to lift material up to 35 pounds as needed. 

  • Near Visual Acuity – clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (working with small objects, reading small print, including the use of computers).
