Job Summary 

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist / Continuous Improvement Industrial Engineer role champions workplace safety and operational excellence at Technetics Group. It develops and drives Safety programs, monitors safety metrics, and implements corrective actions to ensure a safe, compliant environment. By fostering a culture of safety and accountability, the position empowers employees to prioritize health and safety in all tasks. Additionally, it evaluates processes to improve safety, quality, and sustainability while leading continuous improvement initiatives that integrate safety into every aspect of operations.

Job Competencies & Qualifications: 

  • Ensure EHS policies and procedures comply with Company standards and regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, etc.). 

  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees, managers, and Safety Teams on safety protocols, best practices, and annual objectives. 

  • Lead EHS projects and initiatives across multiple functions; monitor performance by tracking, analyzing, and reporting EHS metrics to identify trends and drive improvements. 

  • Investigate incidents and near misses, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions in collaboration with plant management and Corporate EHS. 

  • Maintain compliance with documentation, records, and reporting for environmental, health, and safety programs. 

  • Support corporate EHS initiatives and collaborate with other Technetics and Enpro locations. 

  • Maintain and update emergency response plans to ensure preparedness and employee awareness. 

  • Partner with Product Line Engineers to improve manufacturing processes using engineering principles and data analysis for safety, efficiency, and sustainability. 

  • Implement and sustain 5S practices throughout the plant. 

  • Promote a Continuous Improvement culture by teaching and applying lean tools to improve safety, reduce downtime, and optimize cost. 

  • Influence without authority to drive strategic processes in EHS and Continuous Improvement 

  • Support Safety & Continuous improvement initiatives across Technetics and Enpro companies.  

  • Apply and maintain behavior-based safety principles and implementation processes to drive a proactive safety culture and reduce workplace incidents. 

  • Utilize and continuously improve ISO 14001 Environmental Management System practices to ensure compliance and enhance sustainability initiatives. 

  • Implement and manage ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System standards to strengthen organizational health and safety performance. 

 

Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required) 

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, or related field. (preferred)  

  • 5+ years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), including demonstrated excellence in Continuous Improvement programs.  

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficient in Lean tools, standardized work, TPM, etc.  

  • Up to 20% travel
