Data Governance Program Manager 

Enpro is currently seeking a Data Governance Program Manager to join our corporate Information Security Team based in Charlotte, NC. The selected candidate will serve in a new hybrid role and be responsible for supporting the establishment and execution of enterprise level processes, standards, and tools to support data governance, data security, and organizational data management. The individual will help lead the organization to become more data driven in decision making and help establish processes utilizing analytics to develop actionable insight. The selected candidate will drive the establishment and management of a global data governance function, implementation of a future state data governance architecture, and creating data strategies that touch data quality, security, compliance, metadata, and information governance. 

Responsibilities of the Data Governance Program Manager: 

  • Lead the design and implementation of an enterprise data governance strategy to ensure organizational requirements are met surrounding data quality, security, compliance, and overarching governance across all Enpro subsidiaries. 

  • Accountable for the development and delivery of the following: 

    • Data policies, standards, catalog, & definitions
    • Data quality management capabilities 
    • Data security and access processes 
    • Data governance program metrics  
  • Identify, coordinate, and engage with internal and external stakeholders to drive data governance and regulatory compliance outcomes through the effective management of data. 

  • Inventory and prioritize data quality opportunities and lead efforts to deliver their implementation. 

  • Select and deploy tools, technologies, and platforms that support data governance objectives. 

  • Partner with cross functional teams to ensure security, legal, and compliance requirements are met regarding data classification, marking & labeling, and data residency requirements. 

  • Evangelize and liaise with business stakeholders on technology implementations & modifications to ensure Enpro data governance standards are included in all initiatives. 

  • Acts as customer proxy between different functional business teams across Enpro subsidiaries and the IT/Security organization to see data governance objectives met. 

  • Produce technical documentation such as data design, architecture, and flow guides. 

  • Provide training and user support for data governance tools & processes. 

  • Promote participation and buy-in from business stakeholders for data governance activities. 

  • Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders and knowledge share when possible. 

Required Qualifications of the Data Governance Program Manager: 

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in data governance and data management including, but not limited to, data management standards and approaches, data quality management, data governance practices, data security standards, and data stewardship practices. 

  • Competency translating business needs into requirements and determining effective prioritization. 

  • Experience working directly with technical teams, business sponsors, key stakeholders, and agile team(s) to ensure business needs and objectives are met regarding the use of organizational data. 

  • Works effectively with others; establishing and maintaining good working relationships. 

  

Preferred Qualifications of the Data Governance Program Manager: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, or a related field (Master’s degree a plus). 

  • IT or other industry related certifications are a plus. 

  • Knowledge of business analysis, project management, and product management concepts desired. 

  • Familiarity with industry and regulatory compliance frameworks such as PCI, ISO, DFARS, ITAR, NIST, and Sarbanes-Oxley.
