JOB SUMMARY:
Support Receiving and Inspection operations within the Machine Shop to ensure adherence to established quality standards.
Ensure that all piece parts and raw materials meet required specifications through comprehensive dimensional, mechanical, and certification inspections, maintaining a high standard of workmanship and compliance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Receiving inspection of parts and material from suppliers and vendors
- Review and refine data collection requirements according to customer drawings, models, and scope of work
- Review and scan raw material certifications and special process certifications for accuracy and completeness
- Conduct final inspection of product per drawing requirements and specifications
- Perform first article inspections and prepare first article documents
- Perform and prepare Detailed Inspection Plan reports (DIP)
- Responsible for programming and operating CMM.
- Creating Certificates of Conformance (C of C’s) as needed.
- Verifying all data is entered on completed OMS’s
- Create NCR’s as appropriate
- Monitor Calibration of tools and equipment within the facility
- Proficient with all standard measuring instruments and equipment including but not limited to optical comparators, testing equipment, micrometers and gages
- Ability to work to a schedule with little to no supervision
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Other duties as assigned
- May periodically assist in training other Team members.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED / Trade or Technical Certification
- 3 years’ experience
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel
- Must possess knowledge of inspection methods and instruments
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Must possess good written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of sampling plans and statistics
- Working knowledge of assembly processes and procedures and manufacturing theory and principles
- Working knowledge of statistical process control theory, principles and applications
- Ability to interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, diagrams, engineering specifications, manuals and operating instructions, as required for proper performance of job functions
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle and feel, as well as reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
