This position will have primary responsibility for the analysis and recording of customer warranty claims. The duties will include hands-on inspections of the returned products to determine the cause of failure. Position will determine if claims are payable against STEMCO’s warranty policy. In addition to the processing of warranty claims, as time permits the position will explore product/process improvements based on warranty trends and will assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the laboratory test equipment and facility. This position will manage the RGA process.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform the inspection, analysis, and recording of customer warranty claims.
  • Collaborate with engineering to determine the root cause for product failures.
  • Determine if warranty claims are payable against STEMCO’s warranty policy and report those findings daily to the corporate warranty administrators.
  • Look for trends in customer complaints and meet with engineering to review issues where corrective actions are needed.
  • Assist engineering during new product design meetings to provide feedback about product field performance.
  • Keep laboratory clean and well organized to provide good impressions to visitors to the facility.
  • Approve & issue warranty claims and credits.
  • Ship deny return or no charge products.
  • Maintain customer portals (Freightliner, Navistar, PACCAR, Wabash, Blue Bird, etc.)
  • Manage STEMCO’s RGA process.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 2-year technical degree required. Bachelor’s degree Preferred 
  • Minimum 3 years' work experience in test lab or similar environment.
  • Ability to conduct visual and physical inspection of failed products. Inspections will require the use of hand tools and power tools along with required personal protective equipment.
  • Willingness to handle products that have operated in a field environment where dirt, dust, and grease are present.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to learn new job duties and new technologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Must have ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift/push/pull/position objects up to 35 pounds.
  • Fluency in English language is required. Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
  • Willingness to schedule meetings with engineers and technicians to collaborate on root cause of product failures and to discuss trends in warranty claims.
  • Ability to accept delivery and manipulate returned products including the unloading of pallet quantities of products from trucks and the removal of products from pallet sized containers.
