Roles and Responsibilities:

The Production Planner is responsible for translating customer demand into disciplined, executable production plans that balance capacity, materials, labor, and operational constraints. This role owns production scheduling, work order management, and planning system integrity to ensure on-time delivery and stable shop floor execution. The ideal candidate is a driven self-starter with strong ERP/MRP expertise, a hands-on understanding of manufacturing operations, and the ability to proactively identify and resolve constraints before they impact customer commitments. Success in this role requires a high level of accountability, attention to detail, and consistent engagement with production teams to drive schedule adherence and operational excellence.
• Strong ERP/MRP system expertise with demonstrated planning and transaction management experience.
• Deep understanding of production scheduling, capacity planning, and shop floor manufacturing operations.
• Self-motivated and disciplined with a strong sense of ownership and urgency.
• Ability to translate data into actionable production decisions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and production planning analytics.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify constraints, bottlenecks, and tradeoffs.
• Effective communicator who can align priorities across Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Customer Experience.
• Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments preferred.
• Proven ability to drive schedule adherence, on-time delivery, and execution through influence and collaboration.
• Experience in semiconductor, precision machining, or other high-mix manufacturing environments with a strong understanding of machine shop operations, capacity constraints, and production flow is highly preferred.
 
Qualifications and Skills:
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including filters, pivot tables, formulas, and scenario analysis
• Ability to interpret bills of material (BOMs), routings, lead times, and work center data
• Data driven decision making using demand, inventory, and capacity information
• Experience with scenario planning and impact analysis for changes in demand, supply, or capacity
• High attention to detail with strong follow through
• Effective time management in fast-changing manufacturing environments
• Comfort operating under ambiguity and adapting to change
 
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to lift/pull/push up to 35 pounds.
• Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, and chemicals, with protective equipment provided as needed.
• Must be able to wear the necessary PPE (safety glasses, safety shoes, ear plugs, dust mask, etc.)
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
• Overtime and weekends could be required during heavy workload or to meet special customer demands.
