Summary:

The maintenance technician is responsible for conducting general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures. The position also develops maintenance plans and implements them in the most efficient manner possible, while ensuring safety and quality control standards are consistently met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Plans, schedules, and coordinates maintenance activities, focused on preventive, predictive, and equipment reliability processes and programs. Investigate new technologies & processes and lead the implementation of improvements to the equipment reliability processes.
  • Primary administrator for the maintenance management system.  Reviews information being input into the system for accuracy and completeness. Coordinates the input of equipment additions and maintenance tasks into the system. Provides reports to leadership necessary for cost allocations and financial reporting of maintenance costs in operations. Provides reports and publicizes metrics necessary to improve maintenance department performance.
  • Manages incoming work requests, analyzes job requirements, and determines materials, equipment and labor needs. Ensure the maintenance work is ready to be performed and that there are no delays during the execution of the work. Monitor & report on the backlog of maintenance tasks and projects. Work to sustain and improve the work management process.
  • Develops a weekly schedule and assists operations in determining job priorities.  Maintains a complete and current log of work orders within the maintenance management system.
  • Identifies, analyzes and reviews equipment maintenance problems with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams. Revises the maintenance management system as necessary to improve and enhance facilities & maintenance operations.
  • Assists in training and educating maintenance, facilities, operations, and engineering colleagues in maintenance management.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all relevant federal and local guidelines for safety and productivity including, OSHA, ADA and other required regulations.
  • Evaluate workspace safety on the production floor to ensure all staff is following guidelines with equipment.

Non- Essential Duties

  • Aids in budget development and ensure it is followed
  • Supports the Safety team in managing hazardous waste disposal with third party for removal.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a required discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to develop into a support resource for Maintenance Connection.
  • Must make decisions with little supervision.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems.
  • Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills

Work Environment:

  •        Factory environment, stationed within the process

Office and Manufacturing Floor Position: Ability to perform sedentary work, spending extended periods of time working with a computer. Physical effort may include stooping, kneeling, touching, feeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Clarity of vision to see near and mid-range.   Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
