SCHEDULE:

- 1st shift (Monday-Friday 6am-230pm) 

-$22.84 per hour

Job Summary

  1. Installs molds and operates an electric/hydraulic press to manufacture products according to specified work instructions.
  2. Sets press cure cycles, bumping mechanisms, temperature, and pressure.
  3. Determines and implements corrective actions when defects occur with product and notifies supervision/engineering when unable to correct defects.
  4. Works with supervision and engineering to ensure proper routers for all steps of press setup, mold installation and press operation.
  5. Works closely with engineering personnel in the development and establishment of standard operating data relative to new and/or experimental products.
  6. Monitors pressure changes, vacuum changes, temperature readings, bumps, cycle times and pre-heat cycles to provide input and to help correct job routers and work instructions if discrepancies arise.
  7. Visually inspects material before and after pressing for defects.
  8. Removes mold from press upon completion of order and installs replacement utilizing various mold handling equipment.
  9. Performs lock out tag out and cleans the press.
  10. Moves pressed material to proper area, records production and signs off on each completed router step.

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities are identical to those of Hydraulic/Mechanical Press operators as far as quality assurance duties, scrap reduction techniques, communication updates on progress of runs, data gathering, troubleshooting and finished parts inspections are concerned.

 

  1. Keeps work area clean and in 5S condition while adhering to all plant safety guidelines.
  2. Drives fork truck.
  3. Performs other jobs assigned by supervisor.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

POSTURE:     standing

MAXIMUM WEIGHT TO BE LIFTED:      over 30 lbs. (anything over 30# requires two people or mechanical device)

FREQUENCY PER SHIFT:  up to 25%

REPETITIVE MOTION TASKS:      pushing and pulling

DURATION OF SHIFT: up to 150 times/shifts                                

OTHER: Potential burns and pinched fingers           

WORKING CONDITIONS:  heat, seasonal variation with temperature, fumes

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • High school degree or equivalent required
  • Forklift experience 
  • Basic computer skills
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred

These considerations can cause offered compensation to vary. The hiring range for this position is typically $22.84 - $24.18 hourly. Actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
