Job Summary

The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and supporting facility and production equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role performs preventive and corrective maintenance on facility systems and manufacturing equipment, completes routine inspections, maintains maintenance records, and supports day-to-day facility operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance (PM), and repairs on facility systems and manufacturing equipment.
• Operate, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and process equipment.
• Complete maintenance work orders, inspections, calibration records, logbooks, and equipment documentation.
• Monitor facility utilities and systems, including HVAC, compressed air, DI water, process exhaust, wastewater treatment, and building infrastructure.
• Assist with equipment installation, relocation, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Support cleanroom operations and ensure equipment remains operational to meet production requirements.
• Learn and support automated equipment and facility control systems such as Building Management Systems (BMS), process equipment controls, and automated manufacturing systems.
• Maintain inventories of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies; assist with ordering and restocking materials.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify root causes to minimize downtime.
• Support calibration activities and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Maintain facility housekeeping standards, including equipment areas, utility rooms, rooftops, and exterior facility areas.
• Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other material handling equipment as required.
• Follow all company safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements, PPE requirements, and environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Support production, engineering, quality, EHS, and other departments as needed.
• Participate in emergency response and off-hours support when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager and Facilities Supervisor.

Required Qualifications


• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of maintenance, facilities, manufacturing, or equipment technician experience.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, semiconductor, cleanroom, or high-tech environment preferred.
• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Experience troubleshooting equipment and performing preventive maintenance.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, email, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment safely.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, or respond to emergencies when required.


Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in ISO Class 100 / Class 1000 cleanroom environments.
• Experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing or equipment maintenance.
• Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
• Experience with building automation systems (BAS/BMS).
• Familiarity with HVAC, DI water, wastewater treatment, chemical distribution, compressed air, and process utility systems.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting experience, including motors, sensors, relays, and control circuits.
• Experience with calibration and maintenance recordkeeping systems.


Physical Requirements


• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
• Ability to climb ladders and work at elevated locations.
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to distinguish colors and read gauges, indicators, and instrumentation.
• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.

Working Conditions


This position operates in both manufacturing and office environments. The role may involve exposure to moving mechanical equipment, wet or humid areas, elevated temperatures, confined spaces, rooftop equipment, chemicals, and moderate noise levels. Work may occasionally be required outside of normal business hours to support production schedules, maintenance activities, and emergency repairs.

Pay Range: $28–$33 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications).
