Job Summary:

We are seeking a hands‑on Facilities Engineering & Projects Engineer to support facility operations and capital projects in a high‑tech manufacturing environment, including semiconductor and micro‑electronics operations. This role supports mechanical, electrical, process, and utility systems and works closely with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to execute work safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

This role supports the Facilities Manager by taking ownership of day‑to‑day project execution, field coordination, and system support, allowing projects and operations to move faster while maintaining safety, quality, and compliance.

This position is ideal for a mechanically or/and electrically trained engineer with project management experience who is comfortable working in the field and bridging design, installation, and operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support facility capital projects from design through construction and closeout
  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and process piping contractors
  • Review drawings, RFIs, submittals, and vendor documentation
  • Track project schedules, scope items, and construction progress
  • Support installation, maintenance, and modification of:
  • Perform or support basic tool installation, maintenance, and repair
  • Assist with pressure testing, commissioning support, and system turnover
  • Provide on‑site technical support during installations, equipment moves, shutdowns, and troubleshooting
  • Help manage contractor access, safety documentation, and field coordination
  • Maintain project documentation, drawings, and close‑out records
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (or closely related field)
  • 5–10 years of experience in facilities, industrial, semiconductor, or manufacturing environments
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, process piping, and basic electrical systems
  • Experience coordinating contractors and vendors in active facilities
  • Comfortable working hands‑on in the field skills

Referred / Plus Requirements:

  • Experience with semiconductor or micro‑electronics facility design and operations
  • PE license preferred but not required
  • Experience with semiconductor parts cleaning operations
  • Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Understanding of chemical handling, storage, and facility use
  • DOT hazardous materials and waste management training or certification
  • Experience with hazardous waste handling and generator requirements
  • Familiarity with QT‑9 or other computerized maintenance software
  • Experience supporting DI water, compressed dry air, nitrogen, argon, chillers, HVAC, and utility systems in production environments

  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to handle and feel; talk or hear and smell. The employee is required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds on a repetitive basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus, especially during inspection operations.

This job equally operates in a production and professional office environment. The environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts or equipment. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.  Physical requirements further include the ability to engage in productive and collaborative communication and may need to be performed during non-standard hours, including nights, weekends and possibly holidays. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move about the facility. The employee is required to sit; use hands to finger; handle; or feel/hold objects; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; speak, hear, and smell. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear as well as interact with other employees. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Generally, the incumbent must be able to sit/stand and use a computer for extended periods of time.
