This leadership role is responsible for owning strategic marketing, enterprise program management, and integrated strategic planning across AST. The role serves as the bridge between market intelligence, customer engagement, strategy formulation, and disciplined execution across AST businesses. This role may directly lead a small, high‑impact team and is expected to scale organizational capability over time through influence, mentoring, and program leadership. The position reports to the VP of Strategy & Business Development but works closely with the BU leaders, and functional leaders to ensure AST’s long‑term growth priorities are clearly defined, market‑backed, and executed through formal program ownership. 

 

Director of Strategic Marketing & Program Management–role will have the following primary responsibilities:  

 

Strategic Marketing Leadership 

  • Own AST’s strategic marketing charter, grounded in deep semiconductor market understanding and customer needs. 

  • Lead market segmentation, TAM/SAM/SOM analysis, value proposition development, and competitive positioning across AST platforms. 

  • Translate customer and market insights into clear strategic narratives, executive presentations, and GTM guidance. 

  • Partner with Sales, BD, and Product Management to ensure strategy is tightly aligned to end‑customer requirements and buying behavior. 

 

Program Management Ownership (AST) 

  • Act as single‑point owner for AST wide strategic programs and initiatives. 

  • Establish and run a formal program management cadence (roadmaps, milestones, dashboards, reviews). 

  • Drive accountability across cross‑functional teams without direct authority. 

 

Strategic Planning (AST) 

  • Own the annual and multi‑year strategic planning process across AST. 

  • Convert strategy into prioritized initiatives with clear owners, timelines, and success metrics. 

  • Support executive leadership with board‑level and operating reviews. 

 

 

 

Required Experience & Qualifications 

 

Critical Industry Requirement 

  • 10–15 years of experience in the semiconductor industry is required. 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master's degree (MBA or technical Master’s) preferred. 

  • Background must include time in one or more of the following roles: 

  • Strategic Marketing 

  • Product Management 

  • Product Marketing 

  • Strategy / Business Planning within a semiconductor company 

 

Semiconductor Market & Customer Expertise 

  • Demonstrated experience working directly with end customers (IDMs, foundries, equipment OEMs, or subsystem suppliers). 

  • Strong understanding of semiconductor value chains, including equipment, subsystems, materials, and device manufacturers. 

  • Proven ability to translate customer pain points into actionable strategy and product direction. 

 

Market Research & Insight Generation 

  • Hands‑on experience conducting primary and secondary market research. 

  • Regular use of industry research and analyst sources, including (but not limited to): 

  • Gartner 

  • SEMI / semi.org 

  • Industry roadmaps, analyst reports, and customer interviews 

  • Ability to synthesize external research into clear strategic implications for leadership. 

 

Leadership & Delivery Skills 

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross‑functional programs with enterprise‑level scope and executive visibility. 

  • Strong executive presence and communication skills; able to distill complex semiconductor and technical topics into clear, decision‑ready insights. 

  • Proven ability to influence and align senior stakeholders across engineering, operations, sales, and finance to drive outcomes. 

  • Leads with clarity and accountability, setting direction while empowering teams to deliver results in dynamic, fast‑paced environments. 

  • Skilled in prioritization, decision‑making, and navigating ambiguity to balance speed, quality, and business impact. 

  • Trusted partner and collaborator with a strong customer and business mindset. 

  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to build trust, credibility, and strong working relationships at all levels. 

  • Effective change leader who communicates transparently and brings teams through transformation with confidence. 

  • Strong listening, coaching, and conflict‑resolution skills; able to drive alignment while valuing diverse perspectives. 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience across multiple semiconductor market segments (logic, memory, specialty, equipment, or subsystems). 

  • Exposure to M&A integration, portfolio strategy, or platform road‑mapping. 

  • Experience working in multi‑division or matrixed organizations.

Enpro carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors including the background, education, training, and experience required, as well as geographic considerations such as cost of labor, and applicable local and state laws. These considerations can cause offered compensation to vary. The hiring range for this position is typically $195,000.00 - $235,000.00 annually. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. Bonus and/or equity may be eligible for this position. Enpro offers a range of benefits including, but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k) matching, and other supplemental insurance options.
