Role Overview

The Director of Product Management – Electrostatic Chucks & Heater Pedestals supports the strategy, roadmap, and day-to-day management of AST’s product portfolio.

This role is focused on executing product plans (including pricing, P&L metrics, competitor analysis, and customer qualifications) and driving growth through strong collaboration with engineering, operations, and commercial teams.

The position requires semiconductor industry experience, a solid product management foundation, and the ability to translate customer needs into clear priorities and deliverables.

 This will be an onsite role at our Technetics Semi location in Daytona Beach, FL, or our NxEdge location in Boise, ID.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own product strategy and multi-year roadmaps for chuck and heater product lines
  • Develop and maintain MRDs and PRDs, translating OEM and fab requirements into clear product definitions
  • Manage the full product lifecycle, including NPI, commercialization, and sustaining activities
  • Support phase-gate / PLC processes, ensuring alignment on cost, quality, timing, and performance
  • Partner with Business Development and Sales to support OEM design-ins, qualifications, and share growth
  • Identify opportunities to expand product adoption across existing platforms and customers
  • Gather and synthesize voice of customer (VOC), market trends, and competitive insights to refine product direction
  • Contribute to N+1 / near-term product planning, aligned to customer roadmaps and business priorities
  • Support development of pricing strategies aligned with value, market conditions, and margin goals
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Commercial teams to execute priorities
  • Help drive clarity on product priorities, timelines, and trade-offs to support execution

What You’ll Bring:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field
  • 5-10+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry
  • Experience with semiconductor capital equipment, subsystems, or components
  • Hands-on experience in product management or product line ownership
  • Familiarity with MRDs, PRDs, and product lifecycle management processes
  • Experience supporting OEM customers in technical and/or commercial discussions
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across a matrixed organization

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in engineering or a related technical field
  • Experience with thermal systems, electrostatic chucks, or similar technologies
  • Exposure to fab environments, process engineering, or tool integration
  • Experience working across components and subsystem-level products
