Reporting to the Regional Controller based in Columbia, SC, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for coordinating and managing the accounting and reporting activities for multiple business sites within Enpro. The Accounting Manager will lead the month-end close and reporting process, including the review and approval of journal entries and account reconciliations, review of monthly balance sheet analyses, and quarterly financial statement reviews. The Accounting Manager will direct the activities of the General Ledger Team (excluding inventory accounting), and serve as a key partner providing financial expertise, recommendations, and solutions to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting in a continuous improvement, “growth mindset” environment.
The role is based in Columbia, SC with a combination of in-office and remote work in coordination with the Regional Controller and other team members.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the general ledger accounting team covering multiple sites
Provide career development opportunities, provide performance feedback, and lead annual goal and development plan setting for direct and indirect reports
Coordinate training for current and new accounting staff
Ensure financial results follow US GAAP and internal accounting policies
Lead the month-end accounting close process including review and approval of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
Conduct detailed reviews of balance sheet and trial balances during month-end close
Identify and implement process improvement opportunities targeted towards consistent best practices across Enpro, including supporting the implementation of automation with subject matter experts
Maintain and enhance internal controls for accounting and reporting in coordination with the Regional Controller and the Internal Audit team
Support the preparation and review of the quarterly SOX analytics of legal entity and divisional P&Ls and balance sheets
Coordinate the responses to information requests from Enpro’s Internal Audit team and Enpro’s external audit firm, in collaboration with other team members

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other related field (CPA preferred)
Master’s or equivalent graduate degree in accounting (preferred)

Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in general accounting
Experience managing accounting personnel (preferred)
Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong PC skills with Microsoft Office required, primarily Excel and Word
Knowledge of OneStream (preferred)
Strong organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, collaborative team player focused on personal and team member growth
