Product Manager 

Job Summary:

The Product Manager will be assigned a group of STEMCO wheel-end and/or steering products to manage and will be a central point within STEMCO for business-critical strategy including market, competitors, customers, and industry analysts. To succeed you need to continually gather and analyze data and business intelligence from all sources and use this data to communicate both internally and externally on our product evolution and roadmaps.

The Product Manager is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout their assigned group of products’ life cycle, including: gathering and prioritizing customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, supply chain, sales, manufacturing & marketing to ensure revenue, margin and customer satisfaction goals are achieved.   This position can be based in Longview, TX, Millington, MI or be remote.

Essential Functions:

  • Promote STEMCO/Enpro Culture by exemplifying leadership principles: Modeling the Way, Inspiring a Shared Vision, Enabling Others to Act, Challenging the Process, and Encouraging the Heart.
  • Lead new product development and act as liaison between field sales and the organization for efficient information flow. Manage major category changes and improvements, including competitive benchmarking and market developments.
  • Initiate product changes and upgrades to enhance technological advancement and build the STEMCO brand. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for new product development and iterations.
  • Ensure margin performance of product line through pricing analyses and quoting activities.
  • Develop catalogs, collateral material, sales bulletins, advertising, and supporting documents with marketing to support sales efforts.
  • Provide forecasting support for manufacturing, distribution, and budgeting for assigned product lines.
  • Support salesforce in the field by providing product training and information. Travel to support salesforce, customers, and gather market research/voice of customer feedback. Assist with customer intelligence and liaise with salesforce on customer experience follow-up.
  • Identify training opportunities to enhance job efficiency and personal development.

Job Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Develop long-term strategy and vision for assigned STEMCO Products.
  • Communicate product roadmaps to relevant participants and stakeholders.
  • Develop product requirements based on VOC and competitive landscape analysis.
  • Prioritize portfolio initiatives and manage individual product projects.
  • Create business cases for new product developments and innovations.
  • Initiate incremental product enhancements for advanced products.
  • Manage product development through commercialization.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure success on large commercial opportunities.
  • Optimize margin performance by collaborating with Production, Supply Chain, and Commercial leaders.
  • Work with Marketing to develop product branding and communication strategies, and support materials.
  • Understand and benchmark market position, competitor offerings, and value propositions.
  • Strategize and develop new products aligned with short- and long-term goals.
  • Oversee complete product life cycle, including change management tasks.
  • Educate fleet and OEM customers on STEMCO product advantages for vehicle bid specifications.
  • Participate in industry trade shows and panels and adapt strategy to regulations.
  • Track portfolio performance and initiate activities to achieve financial objectives.
  • Translate unique value propositions into customer and market messaging.
  • Develop and manage strategic plans, analyze key financial metrics, and align sales expectations with key account teams.

 Requirements:

  • 4-year degree required; MBA and engineering/technical background preferred.
  • 5+ years in the heavy-duty truck industry preferred.
  • Customer channel management experience preferred.
  • Program management experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Product Development Process.
  • Experience in multi-site teamwork and cross-functional collaboration required.
  • Organizational agility and ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Public speaking and proficiency in PowerPoint required.
  • Basic knowledge of blueprint reading, purchasing/RFQ/PPAP.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Results-driven, using data and analytics to explain decisions.
  • Well-organized, with high rigor and discipline.
  • Basic understanding of income statement elements and their impact on gross margin.
  • Proficiency in Google, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% per month.
