Job Summary & Job Duties
The CNC Programmer is a senior technical role responsible for developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting CNC programs for complex machining operations. This role ensures efficient machine utilization and collaborates closely with machinists and engineers to support high-quality production.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Develop and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis milling and turning operations.
• Review drawings, blueprints, and engineering models to create machining strategies.
• Select appropriate tools, cutting paths, and speeds.
• Test programs through dry runs and first article inspections.
• Setup and operate complex CNC machinery, including multi-axis machines
• Program and edit machine controls to optimize performance
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of CNC machining and/or programming experience.
• Proficiency in creating and editing G-code manually and using CAM software.
• Strong understanding of tooling, cutting speeds, and feeds.
• Familiarity with GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Ability to mentor machinists and troubleshoot program-related issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Preferred: Associate degree in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field.
• Preferred Experience: Proficiency in CAM software.
• Sub-spindle machining experience or Swiss machining experience a plus
