Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Negotiates, plans and administers purchase orders for raw materials and supplies according to customer requirements and the Company's commitment to cost and quality.
  • Utilizes and applies MRP principles and processes to manage proper inventory levels and replenishment flow.
  • Proactively works with suppliers to expedite part deliveries to meet volatile production demands.
  • Generates and processes cycle count reports, exception reports, shipment forecasts and month-end reports as needed to management and/ or customers.
  • Coordinates, schedules and determines work flow priorities of production floor.
  • Works with engineering to create part numbers and production routers in the ERP system.
  • Maintains effective communication with operations management to facilitate flow of materials and update production status.
  • Actively participates in meetings to discuss open issues, first articles, commitment dates, production/ delivery status.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience                                            

  • Minimum of 2 years planning and procurement experience in a manufacturing environment required   

Computer Skills           

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, as well as inventory/ manufacturing software, such as MRP and/or Oracle.

Other Skills and Abilities                                                    

  • Ability to interpret blue prints and technical specifications is helpful, but not required. 
  • CPIM certification is helpful, but not required.
