Job Summary

The Quality Team Lead is a senior level role that combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities. This position oversees daily quality operations within the shift and demonstrates a strong working knowledge of quality systems and practices to effectively guide the team. They will respond to Quality issues and escalate to production, management, maintenance, or engineering as needed. In addition, this person must ensure associates observe prescribed safety precautions. This is an indirect leadership role reporting to the Quality Supervisor.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Drive safe operations by identifying safety risks and adhering to safety procedures, requirements and regulations.
  • Executes Quality Plan from Quality Supervisor
  • Performs inspections of various complexities, from basic to advanced, utilizing all inspection equipment, including CMMs.
  • This individual may be required to support CMM programming as needed.
  • Maintains and enforces organizational quality standards in accordance with applicable regulations and policies.
  • Assists with surge capacity inspection across all product lines.
  • Responsible for influencing product integrity, minimizing scrap/rework costs, and collaborating cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement
  • Must have the ability to explain technical quality issues and findings clearly and concisely
  • Provides guidance during audits and process inspections
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for non-conforming products
  • High autonomy: has the authority to recommend or reject parts based on inspection results

Job Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of GD&T and/or SPC
  • Ability to utilize and interpret precision measuring equipment.
  • Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Experience
  • Must possess strong attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • Ability to train others to plan, perform, and make decisions as to product conformity and inspection method when not defined.
  • Must be self-motivated, self-directed and can work well as a part of a team.

 

Requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED Required: Understands basic safety standards and policies; ASQ Certification or Engineering Degree (preferred).
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing or relevant production environments

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Aerospace, Automotive or Medical Device background.

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle and feel material, as well as reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
