Job Summary 

The CNC Machinist IV – Team Lead is a senior technical and leadership role responsible for supporting daily operations within a production shift. This hands-on position directly influences production targets, quality performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Team Lead mentors and develops team members, ensures adherence to safety and quality standards, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve complex production issues.

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and coordination of daily activities to ensure production schedules are met. 

  • Monitor workflow, assign tasks, and optimize workloads to maintain efficiency and quality. 

  • Oversee training, onboarding, and continuous development of team members on processes, safety, and quality standards. 

  • Ensure team adherence to safety protocols and company policies while promoting a culture of safety. 

  • Actively troubleshoot and resolve production or process issues, escalating complex problems to management or engineering. 

  • Support and drive lean manufacturing efforts, including 5S, kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives. 

  • Maintain effective communication with cross-functional teams such as engineering, quality, and maintenance. 

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S standards. 

 

Job Competencies & Qualifications: 

  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities related to production equipment and processes. 

  • Proficiency in ERP systems for tracking production data, inventory, and documentation. 

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders. 

  • Familiarity with metrology tools and quality inspection processes. 

  • CNC programming experience and mastery of manual and CNC machines. 

 

Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma/GED required; Associate degree in manufacturing, operations, or related field preferred. 

  • 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing or relevant production environments. 

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in production, assembly, machining, or specialized areas. 

  • CMM experience preferred. 

  • Forklift experience and certification preferred.
