Overview of Position:

This position is responsible for administering multiple Environment Health & Safety (EHS) programs at the corporate staff level to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards for sites in California and Arizona. Records management, data management, data analysis, and statistical reporting are critical responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains corporate occupational injury/illness records and makes determination of OSHA recordability for 140+ employees workplace establishments.
  • Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace.
  • Conduct safety training for employees; facilitate the risk assessment activities to ensure that it aligns with the global requirements/regulations and local legal requirement/regulations.
  • Investigate accidents that occur onsite and identify possible causes of the accident and provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace
  • Collaborate with the team at all levels to monitor compliance and identify safety issues.
  • Ensures that sites are proactive in identifying, maintaining, and complying with applicable county, federal, state and local regulatory requirements.
  • Help create and implement safety plans while ensuring that they are being followed daily.
  • Conduct safety observations, audits, JSA analysis, and inspections on a regular basis.
  • Educate employees on safety standards and expectations as well as drive a proactive safety culture.
  • Ensures that specific projects assigned are completed as planned to meet EH&S goals.  Provides management with updates and escalation on projects/programs.
  • Maintain communication channel with site/location functions.
  • Maintains Claims Management database with Accident Investigation module to produce annual OSHA 300A summary reports.
  • Investigate accidents that occur onsite and identify possible causes of the accidents.

Qualification and Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science degree is preferred. Specialization in Occupational Safety and Health, or Environmental Health, Environmental Sciences; is preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in developing and implementing EHS programs (with strong emphasis on Safety/Cal OSHA)
  • Knowledge and understanding of workplace safety and health programs.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills required.
  • Manufacturing environment experience preferred.

 Pay:  $100K - $120K

This job equally operates in a production and professional office environment. The environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts or equipment. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.  Physical requirements further include the ability to engage in productive and collaborative communication and may need to be performed during non-standard hours, including nights, weekends and possibly holidays. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move about the facility. The employee is required to sit; use hands to finger; handle; or feel/hold objects; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; speak, hear, and smell. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear as well as interact with other employees. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Generally, the incumbent must be able to sit/stand and use a computer for extended periods of time.
