Job Summary:

The Product Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of STEMCO wheel-end products and serves as a central resource for product strategy, including market analysis, competitive positioning, customer insights, and industry trends. This role continuously gathers and analyzes business intelligence to guide product evolution, roadmap development, and internal and external communications.

The Product Manager owns product planning and execution across the full product life cycle, including defining product vision, prioritizing customer requirements, and collaborating with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, sales, and marketing to achieve revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction objectives.

Location: Longview, TX or remote (preference for Longview-area candidates).

 Essential Functions:

  • Promote STEMCO and Enpro culture by exemplifying leadership principles: Modeling the Way, Inspiring a Shared Vision, Enabling Others to Act, Challenging the Process, and Encouraging the Heart.
  • Lead new product development and act as a liaison between field sales and internal teams to ensure effective, timely information flow.
  • Manage major product category changes and improvements, including competitive benchmarking and market analysis.
  • Initiate product enhancements and technology upgrades to strengthen product performance and brand position.
  • Ensure margin performance through pricing analysis and quoting support.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop catalogs, sales collateral, bulletins, and advertising materials.
  • Provide sales forecasts to support manufacturing, distribution, and financial planning.
  • Support the sales organization through product training, technical guidance, and customer engagement.
  • Travel to support customers, collect voice-of-customer input, and conduct market research.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for personal development and role effectiveness.

Job Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Develop and execute long-term product strategy and vision for assigned product lines.
  • Define and communicate product roadmaps to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Translate voice-of-customer and competitive insights into clear product requirements.
  • Prioritize portfolio initiatives and manage multiple product development projects.
  • Create and present business cases for new products and product enhancements.
  • Lead products through development, commercialization, and life-cycle management.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to support major commercial opportunities.
  • Optimize product margin performance through collaboration with Production, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams.
  • Partner with Marketing to develop branding, positioning, and customer-facing messaging.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory impacts.
  • Track portfolio performance and drive actions to achieve financial and strategic objectives.
  • Support OEM and fleet customers through technical education and bid-specification support.
  • Represent the business at industry trade shows, panels, and customer forums.

 Requirements:

  • 4-year degree required; MBA and engineering/technical background preferred.
  • 5+ years in the heavy-duty truck industry preferred.
  • Customer channel management experience preferred.
  • Program management experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Product Development Process.
  • Experience in multi-site teamwork and cross-functional collaboration required.
  • Organizational agility and ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Public speaking and proficiency in PowerPoint required.
  • Basic knowledge of blueprint reading, purchasing/RFQ/PPAP.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Results-driven, using data and analytics to explain decisions.
  • Well-organized, with high rigor and discipline.
  • Basic understanding of income statement elements and their impact on gross margin.
  • Proficiency in Google, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% per month.
