Job Summary & Job Duties

The EH&S / Facilities & Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) programs while overseeing facilities and maintenance operations to ensure a safe, compliant, reliable, and efficient manufacturing environment. This role supervises maintenance personnel, coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and ensures EH&S programs are effectively implemented to support operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and a strong safety culture. Key responsibilities include:
• Implement, enforce, and continuously improve EH&S programs in alignment with corporate standards and regulatory requirements (OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, local authorities having jurisdiction).
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions for injuries, near misses, and safety observations.
• Ensure timely reporting and documentation of incidents, OSHA logs, training records, and safety metrics.
• Conduct risk assessments, job Safety analyses (JSA), and ergonomic evaluations; drive mitigation actions.
• Coordinate safety training programs, onboarding EH&S orientation, contractor safety, and periodic refresher training.
• Support site audits, inspections, and EHS leadership reviews; track compliance actions to closure.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through regular safety walks, employee engagement, and consistent safety messaging.
• Supervise and coordinate daily facilities and maintenance activities, including building systems, utilities, and production equipment support.
• Lead preventive maintenance (PM) planning and execution to improve asset reliability, minimize downtime, and control costs.
• Manage maintenance work orders, prioritization, and scheduling to support production and operational needs.
• Coordinate external contractors and service providers, ensuring safety, quality, and contract compliance.
• Support capital projects, equipment installations, facility upgrades, and layout changes.
• Maintain facility standards related to housekeeping, equipment condition, utilities, and infrastructure.
• Work with Shop floor, Manufacturing Engineers, and Facilities and Maintenance teams to identify and execute process improvements.
• Manage spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies inventory.
• Supervise, train, and develop maintenance and facilities personnel; provide coaching and performance feedback.
• Track and report KPIs related to safety, equipment uptime, maintenance costs, and regulatory compliance.

Salary Range : $125K - $140K

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, facilities, maintenance, or EH&S roles.
• Prior supervisory or lead experience in maintenance or operations.
• Working knowledge of OSHA / Cal OSHA regulations and safety management systems.
• Experience leading incident investigations, audits, and corrective actions.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Proficiency with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical background in mechanical, electrical, or facilities maintenance.
• EH&S certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, CSP, ASP, CHST) or maintenance certifications (e.g., CMRP).
• Experience managing contractors and capital improvement projects.
• Familiarity with EHS metrics, safety audits, and corporate reporting structures.
• Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, and chemicals, with protective equipment provided as needed.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Regular walking, bending, and moving about the facility to supervise work conditions and interact with staff.
• Must be able to lift/pull/push up to 35 pounds.
• Must be able to wear the necessary PPE (safety glasses, safety shoes, ear plugs, etc.)
