Inside Sales Representative

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs specialized and general Inside Sales functions requiring knowledge of company policies and procedures governing customer service, sales, pricing, costing, contracts, product specifications, ordering requirements, forecasting activities, and return requests.  This role will act as an inside coordinator primarily responsible for quotes, customer compliance questionnaires, and supporting core business retention and growth.  Position will provide opportunities to work with all facets of the business including engineering, sales, operations, and finance for continued professional development.                                             

TECHNICAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Handles assigned accounts in collaboration with Regional Sales Team, from inquiry to quote to receipt and review of purchase order on existing, core business. 
• Acts as a liaison between Regional Sales Team, customer, engineering, and manufacturing regarding quotes and pending orders as required.
• Professionally processes customer requests via multiple communications methods (Telephone, Fax, EDI, Internet, ERP System, etc.). including, but not limited to quoting, reviewing purchase orders for completeness and compliance, special pricing requests, special shipping requests and other related items prior to entry of sales order into the ERP system. 
• Develops refreshed costs when required by conducting history research, obtaining supplier quotes on materials and outside processes, and preparing cost estimates for analysis prior to making pricing decisions on opportunities.
• Maintains accurate records of all correspondence received and sent, including formal quotations, internal memos, procedures, instructions, technical data, etc.
• Manages all customer scorecards by reviewing and collaborating with customers on possible discrepancies and reporting a summary of results quarterly to management. 
• Keeps management informed and solicits support for large orders and quotes, problems encountered and resolved, situations pending resolution, and customer feedback.
• Responsible for understanding and being fully capable of executing all Customer Service related activities. Will act as primary back-up during absences and peak, busy periods. 
• Maintains customer forecasts and all related activities including the review and download of forecasts from portals, analyzing reports for discrepancies and actions needed, and running the forecast upload process weekly into the ERP system.
• Assists manager with quoting, maintaining, and managing all contractual business and price agreements.
• Manages all Blanket Purchase Orders with customer, using their forecast if available.  Ensures blankets are meeting quotation requirements and works with customers on release schedules and refreshed pricing as needed.    
• Assists with the facilitation of customer visits to the manufacturing plant(s).
• Works to improve customer relations, computer skills, business unit processes, and industry and product knowledge.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:   

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.  Must have 3 – 5 years of account representative experience either in customer service or sales support environment.
• Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
• Must have strong business writing and communication skills.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and possess proficient multi-tasking skills.
• Must be a self-starter, able to make quality decisions, possess a keen sense of urgency and excellent organizational skills.
• Must possess a positive professional business demeanor.
