Join Technetics as a Chemical Engineer and serve as the technical resource for critical manufacturing processes including electroplating, PTFE coating, and industrial wastewater treatment. This role partners closely with Operations, Quality, EHS, and Maintenance to improve process capability, resolve technical challenges, support regulatory compliance, and lead modernization and automation initiatives. The Chemical Engineer plays a key role in driving safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations while advancing continuous improvement across the Columbia site.

Responsible for providing chemical engineering support for electroplating, PTFE coating, and industrial wastewater treatment processes. Supports process control, troubleshooting, process improvement, project execution, technical documentation, operator training, and regulatory compliance activities. Works cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, EHS, and Maintenance to improve safety, quality, productivity, and process reliability.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide technical ownership and engineering support for electroplating processes, including process control, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support PTFE coating operations through process optimization, quality improvement initiatives, process characterization, and automation efforts.
  • Provide technical ownership and improvement support for industrial wastewater treatment systems, including process control, troubleshooting, compliance support, and treatment practices needed to maintain safe and continuous operations.
  • Analyze process, laboratory, coating, plating bath, and wastewater treatment data to identify trends, resolve issues, make process adjustments within established operating limits, and improve performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve process documentation, specifications, work instructions, operating procedures, and control plans.
  • Lead and support process development, modernization, automation, capital, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, EHS, and Maintenance to investigate process issues, implement corrective actions, and improve manufacturing performance. Escalate matters involving safety, environmental compliance, significant process deviations, customer impact, or potential financial risk as appropriate.
  • Train and support operators and technicians in process control, troubleshooting techniques, safe chemical handling practices, and wastewater treatment operations.
  • Support qualification, validation, and implementation of new equipment, materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes.
  • Independently evaluate technical issues, prioritize engineering support activities, recommend process improvements, and provide solutions that balance quality, safety, compliance, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements.
