Your Role: As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and optimizing our manufacturing processes. You will work closely with operators, product engineers, and tool engineers to ensure our products are designed for optimal manufacturability. Your expertise in SolidWorks will be essential in designing and validating new tooling, molds, fixtures, and dies.

  • Innovate: Develop and implement new manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Collaborate: Work with various teams to enhance product design and manufacturability.
  • Optimize: Analyze and improve existing processes for safety, quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
  • Document: Create and maintain job safety analysis, work instructions, and lock out/tag out procedures.
  • Support: Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams.

What We're Looking For:

  • Education: BS degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Chemical Engineering, or relevant experience.
  • Skills: Strong ability to collaborate, prioritize multiple projects, and communicate effectively.

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY: 

Creates, develops, implements, documents, evaluates and improves procedures and processes required to safely manufacture quality products.  Primary processes include mixing, extruding, calendering, and compression and injection molding elastomers.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Collaborate with operators, product engineers, and tool engineers to ensure product and tools are designed to optimize manufacturability of products.  

  • Develop, evaluate, improve, and document new or existing manufacturing processes, materials and/or equipment.  

  • Develop and implement process control methods, systems and procedures for manufacturing processes.  

  • Design with SolidWorks, coordinate, improve, and validate new or replacement tooling, molds, fixtures, and/or dies required to manufacture products.    

  • Identify and document safe and efficient processes and procedures by creating and maintaining job safety analysis, work instructions, and lock out / tag out procedures.  

  • Develops, designs, and implements new manufacturing processes and equipment along with associated tooling or fixtures.  

  • Coordinate with vendors to obtain quotes for new manufacturing equipment and create equipment specifications, scope of work, and capital appropriation request (CAR), if required.  

  • Work with manufacturing department to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees.  

  • Estimate or measure labor requirements, setup time, cycle time and costs to manufacture products.  

  • Provide technical support to production and maintenance with trouble shooting and resolving technical problems.  

  • Analyze manufacturing processes for enhancements to safety, quality, cost reduction, and throughput.  

  • Support business unit goals and objectives, safety initiatives, quality initiatives, continuous improvement initiatives, and company policies and procedures  

  • Keeps supervisor regularly informed of all activities and carries out special assignments as directed.   

  • Keeps abreast of the latest developments in the field through study of technical literature and membership in technical societies.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • BS degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Chemical Engineering.  Other educational background with relevant experience.  

  • Strong ability to collaborate, listen and implement ideas of all manufacturing employees.  

  • Strong ability to prioritize multiple projects.  

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.  

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:  

Manufacturing Environment.  Restricted area; manufacturing floor (protective clothes, safety glasses, safety shoes); office environment.

Office and Manufacturing Floor Position: Ability to perform sedentary work, spending extended periods of time working with a computer. Physical effort may include stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.  Clarity of vision to see near and mid-range.  Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.

Enpro carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors including the background, education, training, and experience required, as well as geographic considerations such as cost of labor, and applicable local and state laws. These considerations can cause offered compensation to vary. The hiring range for this position is typically $70,000 - $114,000 annually. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. Bonus, gainshare, and/or equity may be eligible for this position. Enpro offers a range of benefits including, but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k) matching, and other supplemental insurance options.​
