 JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Engineer (QE) will mainly be responsible for defining the quality baseline to reflect the customer's requirements and Technetics’ quality standards, by review of specifications, drawings, and manufacturing processes. The QE will have a critical role in interpreting quality requirements and translating them to support all phases of the manufacturing cycle, working closely with colleagues to initiate workable quality instructions and procedures.  

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinate Quality requirements for orders
  • Review customer RFQ’s for QA capability/feasibility assessment
  • Review customer contracts and supporting documentation to ensure proper QA/QC flow downs (internally and to suppliers/labs)
  • Work with Engineering to provide feedback and suggestions for DFMA (inspection)
  • APQP: Create Quality Plans and appropriate inspection methods for critical product characteristics
  • Create Quality documentation packages (FAIR, PPAP, FMEA, etc.)
  • Interface with customers to approve specifications and document packages
  • Utilize Quality tools to improve processes: 8D, Fishbone, Pareto, Etc.
  • Programming of complex inspection equipment (Visual Systems, CMM, etc.)
  • Serve as a backup and support in QC for inspections and evaluations.
  • Interface with design and manufacturing personnel to resolve problems before product flow is affected and excessive rework and scrap is generated.
  • Investigate and respond to customer complaints.
  • Coordinate Corrective Actions and Non-Conformance issues
  • Support Calibration program and Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
  • Support Control testing as required (load/deflection, leak, hardness, etc.)
  • Support QMS Audits, Customer Audits/Source Inspections/Visits.

 

 

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of Quality experience in aerospace or automotive industries preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or similar) preferred.
  • Knowledge of CMM Programming, GD&T and Inspection Techniques.
  • Strong skills in statistics and software: Minitab, etc.
  • Knowledge of key Quality tools such as: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, etc.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001, NQA-1 preferred.
  • Experience working with machined and formed metal products (CNC turning, milling, grinding, lapping, etc.) preferred.
  • Demonstrates great inter-personal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a professional and positive attitude as well as a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of metallurgy, heat treatment, coatings preferred.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has not supervisory responsibility.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Actively participates on a Safety Team and follows all safety requirements.
  • Takes part in continuous improvement initiatives and innovation ideation.
  • Engages in daily production meetings and department ROPE walks.
  • Utilizes an analytical, logical thought process and has meticulous attention to detail.
  • Performs any other assigned duty as directed by management.

  • Be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time
  • Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks
  • Be able to lift and/or move 35 pounds of weight throughout assigned workday
