What You Will Do:

Reporting to the Senior Director, SEC Reporting, Technical and Corporate Accounting, the Corporate Accounting Manager will be responsible for leading a team that executes financial reporting, technical accounting, internal control (SOX), and analysis of financial results for the Corporate and Segment Headquarters of Enpro.  This will include all matters related to these roles that are required of publicly traded companies, including participation in SEC filings and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).  This position requires a hands-on, collaborative leader and team player with sound judgment who is detail oriented, intellectually curious, and able to communicate the impact of the team’s output for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Prepare entries and reconciliations in advanced and/or confidential accounting areas, including share-based compensation, reserves, acquisitions, divestitures/restructuring, equity accounts, and personnel costs
  • Review month-end close journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis prepared by direct reports 
  • Manage intercompany charge-out processes from Enpro Corporate to its various divisions and entities, including assisting with and supervising responses by the team to queries from divisions, intercompany confirmation process, and correction of discrepancies
  • Assist in coordination of month-end Corporate reporting and OneStream consolidation process to ensure consistency and effectiveness across reporting units
  • Expand SEC reporting knowledge across the Corporate accounting team through participation in the quarterly and annual SEC reporting process by
    • Drafting selected disclosures,
    • Attending quarterly meetings with the corporate general counsel department and the Enpro disclosure committee
    • Detail review of quarterly filing disclosures and support prepared by junior members of the corporate accounting team
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Accounting and Financial Reporting, to cross train the full corporate accounting team on GL accounting and SEC reporting, broadening the knowledge of all team members and creating a ‘single team approach’ to corporate accounting and SEC reporting, with backups in the event of absence or departure of a team member
  • Manage team interactions with and support of external and internal audit, and lead process improvement implementation
  • Support business leaders through various reporting and analysis as necessary (SG&A and EBITDA by department; budget/forecast/prior year v. actual; metric improvement analysis)
  • Support FP&A team in preparation of Corporate department-level entity annual budget and Enpro centrally managed costs to be allocated to various divisions/entities
  • Conduct training across the Enpro Finance function on topics of interest from the corporate team, and deliver periodic finance training to Enpro business leaders

What You Will Bring:

  • Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business with an emphasis in accounting.  CPA highly preferred, and MBA or Master of Accounting preferred
  • Required Experience:
    • 5+ years’ work experience in accounting/auditing, FP&A, and/or financial reporting
    • Experience in public accounting and/or public reporting companies a strong plus
    • Ability to take action, make decisions and gather relevant/timely facts
    • Solid understanding of US GAAP and ability to assess/understand technical accounting issues
    • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written
    • Ability to influence group and site team members toward value-adding actions
    • Strong PC skills with Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Word) and
    • ERP software and financial reporting (OneStream, HFM) experience a plus
  • Travel: Travel is expected to comprise less than 10% for this role
