What You Will Do:

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Accounting, the Senior Corporate Accountant will be responsible for financial reporting, technical accounting, internal control (SOX), and analysis of financial results for the Corporate and Segment Headquarters of Enpro.  This will include all matters related to these roles that are required of publicly traded companies, including participation in SEC filings and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).  This position requires a hands-on collaborative team player with sound judgment who is detail oriented, intellectually curious, and interested in understanding the impact of the team’s output for internal and external stakeholders.

  • General ledger (GL) accounting for Enpro Corporate office and operating segment headquarters cost centers including preparation of journal entries and monthly accounting close process, including such areas as debt and interest expense, lease accounting, annual incentive compensation, capitalized software, and treasury accounting (derivatives, investments, etc)
  • Upload and maintenance of Corporate and segment ledgers in company-wide consolidation module
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
  • Issue and reconcile intercompany expense allocations to Enpro divisions, including discussing and resolving variances with division accounting teams
  • Work with corporate financial planning and analysis team to assist in understanding monthly spend, performance vs. budget, including preparing ad hoc analyses
  • Prepare Quarter end and year end Reporting schedules to support Board and SEC reporting
  • Expand SEC reporting knowledge across the corporate accounting team through participation in the quarterly and annual SEC reporting process by drafting selected disclosures, collaborating with the Senior Manager, Accounting and Financial Reporting, and attending quarterly meetings with the corporate general counsel department and the Enpro disclosure committee
  • Perform independent tie-out for quarterly SEC reports and investor-focused materials such as quarterly earnings release, call scripts, and presentations
  • Review/coordination of accounting for certain Corporate legal entities with parties outside EnPro (contractors/consultants)

What You Will Bring:

  • Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business with an emphasis in accounting.  Masters’ or equivalent degree in accounting a plus
  • Required Experience:
    • 3+ years of prior accounting work experience.  Experience in public accounting and/or in a publicly traded company accounting function a plus
    • Strong computer skills including detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills

    • Prior experience in working with and analyzing data from ERP and consolidation software modules
    • CPA, or CPA candidate with demonstrated progress toward gaining license
  • Travel: Travel is expected to comprise less than 10% for this role
