Garlock is looking for a Parts Fabricator/Finisher: Spinning to join our manufacturing team. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys hands-on metalworking, takes pride in precision, and wants to use equipment, tools, and measuring instruments to turn raw components into finished parts. What you’ll do:

• Coordinate components for buffers and parts issued to final assembly.
• Set up and operate metal fabrication equipment used for grooving, spinning, perforating, trimming, welding, forming, fitting, grinding, and finishing parts.
• Work on metal components such as outercases, filler rings, adapters, and spin chucks.
• Perform product identification and final assembly steps based on customer requirements.
• Complete in-process and final inspections using visual checks and measuring devices.
• Machine the proper contour, outside diameter, and faces on new or existing spin chucks.
• Handle materials safely, including use of a lift truck when required.
• Complete production documentation and help keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.

What we’re looking for:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret prints and work instructions.
• Ability to read a tape measure and use adjustable measuring devices and other measuring instruments.
• Comfort working to close tolerances when grinding, sanding, forming, and finishing parts.
• Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
• Willingness to perform routine and preventative machine maintenance, including oiling and basic care of equipment.

Physical and work environment requirements:

• Standing for much of the shift, with some stooping and bending.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds; anything over 30 pounds requires two people or mechanical assistance.
• Repetitive motion tasks may include feeding parts.
• Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with dirt, dust, noise, water, oil, vibration, grease, and chemical solutions.

Starting Pay: $24.72/hour, Pay Range: $24.72-26.67/hour, Shift Differential (2nd): $1.50/hour

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Coordinates components for buffers as well as items to be issued to final assembly.
2. Sets up and operates various metal fabricating machines to manufacture components to include the grooving, spinning, perforating, trimming, welding, forming, fitting and grinding of metal components, such as outercases, filler rings, and adapters.

 Keeps work area clean.
