Job Summary:

The Semi-Automatic Winder performs light industrial manufacturing as an Automatic Winding Machine Operator in a metal gasket manufacturing plant. Primary responsibility will be to operate the automatic winding machine that produces metal wound gaskets

Essential Functions:

• Elevated level of Mechanical aptitude.
• Performs and records quality checks as required.
• Maintains a clean work area, works in a safe manner, and performs other tasks as directed by production management.
• Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, all situations that could arise. Apply common sense understanding to conduct detailed but uninvolved written and/or oral instructions.
• Monitor machine cycles to avoid equipment issues or failures.
• Review orders and drawings to verify product specifications.
• Calculate and record daily production numbers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1 to 2 years’ experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

• Quality management-the individual looks for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
• Planning/organizing-the individual prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans.
• Adaptability-the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, and can deal with a frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
• Dependability-the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction, and solicits feedback to improve performance.
• Safety and security-the individual actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift material up to 35 pounds as needed.
