Job Summary:
Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for performing routine inspections, implementing quality assurance policies and procedures, and identifying any workflow issues.
Essential Functions:
Support the digitization and improve efficiency of the Quality Management System (QMS), including documentation, procedures, policies, manuals, and quality records.
Assist in preparing for and participate in internal audits and external audits to ensure compliance with AS9100.
Conduct routine inspections of production records/documentation to ensure consistency to quality and regulatory standards.
Help supervise and detail corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve product quality issues and nonconformances.
Support the investigation of customer complaints and product quality issues, documenting root cause analyses and helping track action items/improvements.
Assist with training programs on quality standards and procedures for relevant personnel.
Maintain quality metrics and assist in generating reports for management on quality performance and compliance trends.
Maintains detailed and accurate record keeping practices.
Accepts or rejects parts purchased externally or manufactured internally.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required, associate's degree preferred.
Two years of experience working in a quality assurance role in a manufacturing environment required.
Ability to make sound decisions and approach problems with curiosity and open-mindedness.
Ability to use measurement tools to complete calibrations.
Ability to read drawings and understand specifications of a complex nature.
Experience with AS9100 principles and practices preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift material up to 35 pounds as needed.
Near Visual Acuity – clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (working with small objects, reading small print, including the use of computers).
