Human Resources Generalist
Position Summary:
The HR Generalist will be responsible for providing HR support to drive engagement in the workforce and meet HR business objectives. This role is ideal for a high-performing professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about driving HR excellence across all facets of the employee lifecycle. The HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting strategic HR initiatives, fostering a positive workplace culture, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.

- Partner with hiring managers to attract top talent, manage the full-cycle recruitment process, and deliver a seamless onboarding experience.
- Manage all leave of absence administrative processes for union employees using the company’s 3rd party leave of absence administrative vendor.
- Actively support the HR team to advise leaders on talent and organization decisions and change management efforts.
- Champion initiatives that enhance employee engagement, recognition, and retention.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute employee engagement activities and community outreach events (e.g., volunteer days, wellness fairs, holiday celebrations, team-building events).
- Assist with coordinating and facilitating the hourly performance review cycle, including partnering with leaders to ensure timely and accurate completion.
- Extract data to create and monitor HR metrics to identify business opportunities working with the HR team to implement solutions. Maintain accurate HRIS records and generate reports to support data-driven decision-making.
- Partner with the HR team to implement talent strategies, to include executing talent management and succession planning activities within the business and deploying appropriate retention strategies to promote organizational stability, talent succession and development
- Partner with local staff to make recommendations as it relates to employee relations & talent issues.
- Ensure HR practices comply with federal, state, and local laws; maintain and update HR policies and procedures.
- Assist in improvement, implementation, and administration of company policies and procedures, and ensures consistent application of these requirements.
- Process offboarding of employees in various HR information systems.
- Manager of all HR related records and filing systems
- Support the benefits administration process by maintaining working knowledge of the company’s benefit plans, lead open enrollment functions including employee education, communication and wellness activities.
- Manage processes connected with payroll administration to confirm accurate and timely payrolls.
- Managing sensitive information including but not limited to salary, personal information, and organizational structure
- Ad-hoc administrative tasks in support of Human Resources and organizational clarity.
Job Competencies & Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a generalist capacity.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated success in building trust and credibility with frontline employees and leadership.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
- Travel expectations: 20% of time
