Job Summary & Job Duties

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shop Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of CNC machining, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Implement and enforce policies and procedures as directed by the Operations Manager regarding safety, production standards, and behavior.
Salary Range ; 98K - 120K

Minimum Qualifications

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shop Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of CNC machining, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Implement and enforce policies and procedures as directed by the Operations Manager regarding safety, production standards, and behavior.

• Supervise the production flow within the machine shop to ensure safety, quality, on-time delivery and cost efficiency.
• Improve equipment utilization, shop organization, and tool maintenance.
• Plan work schedules and expedite workflow in conjunction with Production Supervisors and Account Managers to meet customer expectations.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate performance of employees directly reporting to this position.
• Work with shop floor, Manufacturing Engineers, and Facilities and Maintenance teams to identify and execute process improvements.

• Collaborate with shop floor, Manufacturing Engineers, and Facilities and Maintenance teams to identify and execute process improvements.
• Make sure employees are taking their breaks & meal periods according to CA labor laws.
• Consider the impact of decisions and act in the best interest of the department and company.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment: Scheduling labor and workflow
• Accountability mindset: Clear expectations to operators and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work in a team environment to complete goals, while also working alone on projects.
• Basic PC skills with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software packages.
• Effective English written and verbal skills required. Able to take detailed and well-organized notes to summarize meeting results, agreements, action items, and problems.
• Able to operate in a less-controlled environment with consistent feedback to manager.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in manufacturing or machining preferred.
• Ability to prioritize shifting workloads.
• Preferred CNC Machining experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, and equipment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and interpreting technical drawings.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and ERP systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience troubleshooting manufacturing operations, including machining processes.
• Familiar with a broad range of processes such as machining, detailing, welding, and assembly.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments.
• Thorough understanding of machining equipment set-ups and practices.
• Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, and chemicals, with protective equipment provided as needed.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Regular walking, bending, and moving about the facility to supervise work conditions and interact with staff.
• Visual acuity to inspect parts and review detailed documents and reports.
• Must be able to lift/pull/ push 35 lbs. unassisted.
