OVERVIEW
The Quality Manager (QM) is responsible for ensuring and maintaining the overall effectiveness of the Site Quality Program. This includes establishing and maintaining processes and procedures in compliance with ISO 9001 to ensure products consistently meet internal and customer requirements. The Quality Manager serves as the cultural leader for quality across the organization, driving accountability, operational discipline, and a continuous improvement mindset throughout all functions. This role partners directly with customers, suppliers, engineering, and operations teams to support a fast-paced, high-mix precision machining and assembly environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive improvement to department key performance metrics.
- Manage all aspects of plant quality operations including audits, inspection, quality engineering, first article reporting, non-conforming product management, supplier quality, and document control.
- Compile and present quality performance data to executive leadership.
- Establish and maintain Quality System procedures, work instructions, and audit programs.
- Oversee MRB and CAPA processes.
- Manage receiving, in-process, and final inspection activities.
- Develop and utilize statistical tools such as SPC, Cp/Cpk, and Gage R&R to drive improvement.
- Serve as the site quality leader and champion, fostering a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Support customer-facing quality activities including audits, corrective actions, escalations, business reviews, and customer visits.
- Lead the preparation and submission of SPSs, SNFs, FAIRs, deviation requests, and other customer-required quality documentation.
- Partner closely with Engineering and Operations to implement process controls and drive manufacturing excellence.
- Provide quality leadership within a high-volume, fast-paced precision machining and semiconductor manufacturing environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Advanced knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Advanced understanding and practical application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Strong knowledge of precision machining processes and manufacturing methods.
- Working knowledge of mechanical and optical inspection techniques and equipment.
- Proficiency with precision measurement equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gages, height gages, surface plates, and CMM systems.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure manufacturing environment.
- Strong customer communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Advanced communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems and quality management software.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in product manufacturing or quality leadership in a management capacity.
- Demonstrated experience within a high-volume precision machining, semiconductor, aerospace, medical device, or similar manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and advanced inspection methodologies is required.
- Experience with mechanical, optical, and CMM inspection systems is required.
- Experience preparing SPSs, SNFs, first article packages, and customer quality documentation is strongly preferred.
- Customer-facing quality leadership experience is preferred.
- Six Sigma Certification is a plus.
- Lean Manufacturing Certification is a plus.
- ISO Lead Auditor Certification is a plus.
- Semiconductor manufacturing experience is a strong plus.
