OPPORTUNITY

AlpHa Measurement Solutions is experiencing aggressive growth and recognizes a need to strengthen its Sales & Marketing capabilities to meet increased demand and support continued growth.  We have an immediate need for a North America Sales Director to lead our Houston-based sales team.

Our company has over 100 years of liquid sensing experience, is growing, and is accelerating growth through its recent acquisiton by Enpro Inc. (NYSE: NPO).  Enpro is a leading industrial technology company manufacturing high-performance proprietary products for the semiconductor, aerospace, and compositional analysis sectors.  Enpro companies employ nearly 4,000 associates globally, while AlpHa’s team consists of over 350 employees, including 235 team members in Houston, Texas and 120 in Shanghai, China.  We need an organized and energetic North America Sales Director who wants to lead a growing team, who is self-motivated to advance the company’s goals, and who can take the Sales Team to the next level.

Our global headquarters is conveniently located in Houston at the southwest intersection of I-69 and Sam Houston Tollway, just north of Sugar Land.

This individual will report to the VP of Sales & Marketing.

Classification​: Salaried/Exempt, Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and as required to maintain business momentum. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary

The North America Sales Director (NASD) is responsible for driving profitable revenue growth through leadership of the regional sales organization and ownership of key customer relationships. This role is intended for a hands-on, execution focused sales leader who balances strategic direction with active engagement in the business and maintains clear accountability for regional commercial decisions and outcomes.

The NASD will directly manage the following teams:

  • OEM Account Managers serving OEM / Private Label customers worldwide across diverse end markets (i.e. drinking water / wastewater, environmental monitoring, analytical laboratory, swimming pool / spa, aquaculture, and various other industrial water applications)
  • Distributor Account Managers responsible for overseeing and expanding the network of stocking distributors representing the Van London brand to end users in harsh industrial markets (i.e. chemical / petrochemical, pulp / paper, cooling towers, etc.)
  • Customer Service Representatives providing sales operations and customer support to all AlpHa sales channels

Reporting to executive sale leadership, the NASD establishes regional priorities, ensures alignment across direct and indirect sales channels, and builds a high performing, accountable sales culture. This role requires a leader who remains personally engaged in the business while developing and leading the team, partnering cross-functionally to support customer needs and regional growth initiatives.  

Essential Functions

  • Lead and manage a regional sales and customer service team, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and development of both inside and outside sales resources
  • Lead regional sales execution from strategy through implementation, maintaining direct involvement in day-to-day sales activities, forecasts, and customer engagements
  • Act as a hands-on “player coach,” supporting sales team members in active opportunities by joining customer meetings, developing account strategies, reviewing proposals, and assisting in closing critical deals
  • Directly manage and grow a limited portfolio of key and strategic end-user and OEM / private-label customer accounts, serving as the primary point of contact and actively participating in customer meetings, negotiations, pricing discussions, and deal execution
  • Own the regional sales budgeting and forecasting process, including working with Finance in setting annual targets, managing group expenses relative to budget, and measuring performance against budget and growth targets
  • Establish, manage, and approve pricing strategies and deal structures, ensuring alignment with margin expansion objectives, competitive dynamics, and customer value propositions
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve sales processes, including pipeline management, forecasting cadence, account planning, opportunity qualification, and CRM usage to ensure consistency and accountability across the team
  • Oversee execution of regional trade show strategy, including show selection, budgeting, booth strategy, messaging, staffing, pre-show planning, on-site execution, and post-show follow up
  • Use data and analytics to drive decisions, leveraging dashboards, reports, and tools (e.g. CRM, Power BI, etc.) to evaluate pipeline health, conversion rates, pricing effectiveness, customer performance, and individual contributor productivity
  • Conduct regular business reviews with the executive team and sales team, focused on data-driven performance assessment, opportunity reviews, corrective actions, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, marketing, finance, and product teams to align customer requirements, demand planning, pricing execution, and go-to-market initiatives
  • Monitor market, customer, and competitor activity within the region and translate insights into actionable adjustments in pricing, positioning, account focus, and resource allocation
  • Ensure disciplined execution of sales tools and systems, driving adoption, data accuracy, and consistent usage to support forecasting, reporting, and leadership visibility
  • Travel as required to support key accounts, coach sales team members in the field, attend customer meetings, and represent the company at trade shows

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in a technical field
  • Minimum 5 – 10 years of sales leadership experience in a technical / manufacturing environment, with a strong preference for direct experience in water treatment, liquid analytical sensing / industrial process control, or test & measurement industries
  • Must have extensive experience leading direct and indirect sales teams, including managing groups remotely or over a large territory
  • Must be comfortable working with and driving diverse team members
  • Experienced leader with proven results in making authoritative business decisions, executing decisions and accounting for results
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) are required
  • Experience with communicating technical and complex information concisely and clearly to senior management
  • Successful experience utilizing a CRM and an ERP system to manage team sales tasks, pipeline, closing data, and transaction execution
  • Must be analytical and data driven with an ability to analyze multiple leading indicators of revenue and pipeline information to direct team
  • Must be highly competent in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience building, analyzing, and interpreting reports and dashboards in Power BI
