Job Summary & Job Duties

JOB SUMMARY:
The Production Technician III – Heat Treat will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment as well as determining load sizes, directing loading preparations, preparing bulk loads, setting of correct programs per specifications, equipment setup, posting of production records and maintaining normal production yields. The Heat Treat Specialist will exhibit ownership of the area and the function, including the management and scheduling of heat treat cycles, preventative maintenance and quality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Serves as subject matter expert in a specific production area (heat treat).
• Operates, controls, and monitors production equipment.
• Leads complex setups and adjustments, optimizing production processes.
• Troubleshoots advanced production issues and provides solutions, partnering with Product Line Leader, Quality, and/or Maintenance.
• Develops and updates work instructions. Maintains accurate records of production as required per specification and qualification.
• Monitors production quality and ensures compliance with standards. Works to established programs such as NADCAP, AS9100, etc.
• Mentors and trains less experienced colleagues.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S standards. Ensures daily and weekly preventative maintenance checklist procedures are completed, and partners with maintenance as necessary.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Actively participates in Safety Committee and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Performs any other assigned duty as directed by management.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• A minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience.
• Must be available to work rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
• Advanced knowledge of production machinery and specialized processes.
• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments and quality control tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills (preferred).
• Demonstrates great interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrates a professional and positive attitude as well as a passion for continuous improvement.

● Be able to use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls

● Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks
● Be able to lift and/or move 35 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of heat treating experience (preferred).
• A working knowledge of heat treating processes and testing such as hardness testing (preferred).
