Job Summary & Job Duties

Manages and leads the sales function, including developing and executing the business development strategy, sales plan, driving revenue growth, and providing leadership, direction, and accountability for the sales team. Responsible for building customer relationships, forecasting performance, and aligning sales execution with company objectives.

• Lead, coach, and develop the sales team by setting clear performance expectations, providing ongoing feedback, and supporting professional growth.
• Develop and execute sales strategies, plans, and forecasts aligned with business objectives and revenue targets.
• Drive new business development by identifying opportunities, qualifying leads, and supporting effective sales presentations and proposals
• Build, maintain, and expand relationships with new and existing customers to ensure long-term partnerships, customer satisfaction, and account growth
• Oversee sales pipeline management, including opportunity tracking, forecasting accuracy, and reporting to leadership
• Engage with customers to understand technical challenges and application requirements; ask effective questions and collaborate with internal teams to identify feasible solutions
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and other internal teams to align customer requirements with operational capabilities.
• Lead pricing discussions, contract negotiations, and proposal development in accordance with company guidelines and approval processes
• Monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitive activity to inform sales strategy and identify growth opportunities
• Establish and maintain sales documentation, reporting, and processes to support effective execution and communication
• Ensures sales activities comply with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable regulations
• Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, conferences, and trade shows; prepare post-event summaries and analyses as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent combination or education and experience
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in sales, business development, or a related commercial role
• Experience selling or supporting technical, regulated, or application-driven products, such as in pharmaceutical, medical device, contract manufacturing, or similar environments
• Demonstrated experience managing customer relationships and driving revenue growth
• Experience leading, coaching, or supervising others in a sales or customer-facing environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce or similar systems)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a Sales Manager or people-lead role
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or engineered products environment
• Familiarity with pricing strategies, forecasting, and margin management
• Experience supporting organizational growth and change activities
• Experience working closely with engineering, R&D, or technical teams to translate customer requirements into viable solutions
