Position Summary:
Perform duties required to ensure all quality systems in the plant are functioning as designed. Work in collaboration with operators, area supervisors/shift leaders, Q.A., Process, and Product Engineers, vendors, and customers in solving problems. Provides leadership for the Quality of the product at all stages of manufacturing. Promote quality throughout the plant. Support day-to-day factory floor activity through inspections, measurements, and audits Develop and submit PPAP documents for new product launches and process changes to meet customer requirements. Perform measurements and/or capability analysis on mold, die, and other tooling approvals. Inspect received materials, components, tooling, etc. to insure that they conforms to specifications and manage disposition for released and/or rejected product.
As part of Advance Quality Product Planning (AQPQ), review supplier sample approvals for conformance to specifications and assist in supplying PPAPs (parts & documents) to customers. Support engineering and other departments with special projects and measurement needs. Establish & maintain measurement methods, measurement equipment use instructions, gage calibrations, and inspection procedures. Perform Internal & Process Audits
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Associates degree, preferably in Manufacturing/ Mechanical/ Industrial discipline with 2 - 4 years'
experience in quality or a high school or technical school Diploma with 5+ years in manufacturing
quality required.
Ability to apply appropriate use of statistical techniques.
Ability to determine and apply appropriate Measurement System Analysis tools.
Technical Qualifications: Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes. Background in GD&T.
Computer Skills: In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
Experience with some quality data analysis software applications is required. (e.g., Minitab, GageTrak,
etc)
QMS Internal auditing experience
Capable of performing measurements and inspections using hand-held gages like vernier calipers,
micrometer, height gage, CMM, Optical comparator, surfometer, profilometer and other custom-
designed inspection equipment. CMM programming experience is preferred.
Inspection equipment software, CMM operation/ data analysis software and statistical analysis
software.
Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk/hear.
Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, and lift up to 35 pounds.
